Hashtag Board Co's art department seeks a freelance photo researcher to provide our editorial, design, and social media teams with images to use on our family of websites and social media channels. It is the photo researcher’s job to locate and (if necessary) license images that adhere to the company’s photo policy, and also to add metadata to the image files, retouch/resize them for specific uses, and maintain an image archive and database. 

Responsibilities

• Find photos that are compliant with our image policy and complement editorial content

• Acquire and license images for online use, when necessary

• Retouch, resize, and tag all acquired images

• Create/Maintain our online image archive with images that adhere to our photo policy

• Monitor our websites to assure compliance with photo policy

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year experience working in the photo department of publication, website, or agency

• Strong organizational and project management skills

• An aptitude for selecting excellent images; an eye for what makes a good photo, guided by an intellect that knows how to select an image that’s both relevant to the topic and compelling to the audience

• Proficiency using a Mac, Wordpress, and a good understanding of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

• Basic photo retouching skills, including cropping, color correction, and minor photo modifications

• A working knowledge of image licensing, rights, and permissions
