Hashtag Board Co is seeking a web-savvy creative to take on an Associate Editor role on a new, soon-to-be-launched website. This role is a hybrid between social media and editorial work, and this person will work closely with the news editor to develop engaging social media platforms, while also writing, producing, and editing a wide range of content geared towards the social audience. A thorough understanding of how to capture the attention of a broad, diverse audience is a must. This is a full-time position in the New York office.

 The ideal candidate should have a background writing and editing, and also a strong understanding of social media platforms and communities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day on key social media accounts for site (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)

• Collaborate with editors, designers, and video production team on creating content for social platforms

• Develop an audience, voice, and unique social strategy for new site

• Develop, write, and edit content for new site

• Oversee the development of emerging social platforms

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with writing, editing, and/or professional social media engagement

• Deep knowledge of and enthusiasm for social trends and internet culture  

• Ability to cover diverse subjects from a wide range of perspectives

• An interest in a diversity of cultures, including bi-cultural experiences within the U.S., Latin American culture, and other global communities

• Fluency in social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, YouTube, Snapchat, and more

• Familiarity with WordPress, Google Docs, and basic web publishing processes
